Blogtober Challenge – Day 27 – What?! A Beautiful Sunset in Jinan, China?

For those of you who been to Jinan, you know we don’t often get pretty blue skies here. Thanks to pollution. However, since I came back, I’ve witnessed clear skies and beautiful sunsets! I had to capture this moment! These are photos I took earlier this month, I hope you enjoy! I also included some sunset quotes!

A Beautiful Sunset in Jinan, China

Quan Cheng Square 泉城广场

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

-Rabindranath Tagore

Sunset Landscape - Jinan Quan Cheng Square

We often forget that there are different kinds of clouds. Definitely here in Jinan, I find I get stuck on the dark grey clouds. It’s crazy how it can alter one’s mood entirely. I’m thankful I got to experience this sunset with clouds, and appreciate how clouds add such beautiful colors to the sky. Look at the orange and the light pink!

Bursts of gold on lavender melting into saffron. It’s the time of day when the sky looks like it has been spray-painted by a graffiti artist.

-Mia Kirshner

How D O P E is this quote, though? I don’t have any other words except “Drop the mic!”

Sunset is still my favorite color, and rainbow is second.

-Mattie Stepanek

Sunset Portrait 1 - Jinan Quancheng Square

Sunset and Rainbow are the most natural colors you can get. It’s difficult to recreate these blends of colors on a canvas. Hard for me! I can’t even draw a stick figure properly in one color!

People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.” I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”

-Carl Rogers

“The Most Beautiful Day in Jinan” – the translation of the Chinese text

He couldn’t have said it better. Every person is their own sunset, each with their distinct qualities that make them unique and beautiful. Why ruin them with your judgments? Let them be.

Sunsets are proof that no matter what happens, every day can end beautifully.

Jinan Quancheng Square at Night
Beautiful photo of Quancheng Square at Night. If you look at the Tall Building, it says “I love Jinan” in Chinese!

It was a beautiful day in Jinan, indeed! I’m sad that sunsets don’t happen everyday here in Northern China because of pollution. Yet, when it does happen it’s a sight to see and I know I’ll have a good day!

4 more days until the end of Blogtober!

We can do this! Here’s one more quote to motivate us to keep writing! Sunset related 😉

Know what you want to do, hold the thought firmly, and do everyday what should be done, and every sunset will see you that much nearer the goal.

-Elbert Hubbard

I can totally understand the feeling you get watching the sunset, living in Delhi which is another smog and pollution driven city I also crave for starry nights and travle often to the hills nearby in other states like uttarakhand. Loved the pictures you shared .

    • Tyra Skinner

Yes, sometimes I miss the stars as well and go hiking too to escape the smog. It’s sucks our cities havethis pollution but I’m happy we can cherish the beautiful sunset moments.

Gorgeous photos and lovely quotes! It’s a shame that pretty skies are so rare in China due to the fog:( When I went to Shanghai all I could see was grey and all my photos turned out grey:( But this is sooo awesome:D Thanks for the encouragement for blogtober;)

I knoow I hated when I was trying to take a picture of the city from high above it was hard to see the buildings. I had to put my pictures in black and white to make it more aesthetically pleasing to the eye! I love these quotes, too. Which one was your favorite?

  • Michael Oloko

Drop the mic, that used to be one of my quotes in my hipper days 😆

    • Tyra Skinner

Drop the mic is one of my favorite quotes to say. But you have to do the action as well lol
