So in light of this I decided to write a post about the things I am afraid of.

Enjoy laughing at my weaknesses!

Things I Am Afraid Of

Afraid of taking a shower at home by myself.

Blogtober Challenge Day 12 Things I am afraid of - Showering home alone

I know, it’s quite specific. Don’t worry, I love taking showers. It’s just that I’ scared that someone will knock down the door, bust in and grab me while I’m enjoying my hot shower.  I’m an action movie buff, and I’ve watched too many people get killed in the shower. Not happening to me! There are some times where I HAVE to take a shower at home alone, and I swear it’s my quickest shower ever! Like military time showers!

PETRIFIED of roaches.

I am fine with lizards, geckos, beetles, even bees, but those roaches cause me to scream and jump on couches. In Texas, during the Winter and rainy season we sometimes get those big roaches because they are looking for warmth and a place to hide.

I literally scream my brothers’ names, even my little sister’s name to kill a roach.

IF. If, if, if I have to kill a roach, my weapons of choice are

A) Windex or any type of spray because at least I am away from them.

B) The Broom. The longer the better. I take a few swats and hope the roach dies.

Clean-up takes me a good half-hour because I have to convince myself that the Roach is dead and it won’t attack me.

Scared of tickles

First I will scream, THEN, I will kick you in your pelotas, your face, or wherever if you tickle me. Rian thinks he is funny. I hit him several times! Ugh, I’m ticklish everywhere!

Blogtober Challenge Day 12 - Things I Am Afraid Of! Tickle me elmo

Afraid of getting ripped off in a taxi cab.

This has happened to me once and I vowed it will never happen again! I literally rehearse speeches in my head, preparing myself for any sketchy behavior. Imagine rehearsing how to say things in an other language. In Bali, I was terrified of negotiating taxi cabs. I’m sorry, Sjenade, I had you negotiating prices the entire time. Couldn’t do it! Like I said, I watch way too many action movies.

I don’t know if this is a fear, or just something I hate, but I’m afraid of crossing the street in China.

Blogtober Challenge - Day 12- Things I am afraid of- Not sure if I let this car go or cross the street meme

Actually, everyone should be afraid. Scooters and cars are coming in from everywhere. I once almost got hit by a bus. I feel like it’s only natural that I’m afraid of dying while crossing the street!

Even though this is on my fall bucketlist, I’m scared of Horror movies.

I prefer watching family oriented Halloween movies that are cute or funny. I did watch the new IT. That wasn’t scary because the clown was ugly, but it’s hard for me to watch movies like the Grudge, Paranormal Activity, Japanese Horror Movies. NOPE. Won’t do it.

Too scary for me. I need at least 10 other people in the room, or my boyfriend, or my best friend, just so I can hold them. After I watch a horror movie, I have to watch something stupid afterwards, some youtube video, or something. Or I will have nightmares. I know, I’m like a little kid.

Scared of taking pills.

I can take some pills, small ones, but I can only do it one at a time. It’s a whole ordeal. Afraid of choking!

I normally chop up huge the huge ones

in pieces, add a little bit of juice and take it like a shot. My mom makes fun of me all the time!

That’s about it! I hope you guys enjoyed laughing at the things I am afraid of! Half of these really are not a big deal to most people, but to me I get chills!

I feel ya with the horror films… It’s actually not that I’m scared, but I hate that sinking stomach feeling when there’s a jump scare. That’s also why I hate rollercoasters. I also completely understand the shower thing! I’ve lived alone for a long time now, so it’s ok, but I used to freak out when I had to close my eyes to wash my face, because I thought someone was gonna come in and stab me haha!

    • Tyra Skinner

Funny thing is I looooove rollercoasters and that feeling, but not that feeling during horror films. I feel like with rollercoaster, the experience ends fast. With horror movies, it’s forever in your mind.

  • Alex BetterTogether

Great post! I’m with you with horror films – i’ll watch them but then can’t stand the light being off and I have to run to the bathroom and back incase there’s a killer lurking ha! My big fear is clowns! I HATE them!

    • Tyra Skinner

Clowns are craaaazy, I hate clowns too! I don’t understand why they can’t just dress up as super heroes and blow up balloons. Why do they have to have that makeup lol

  • Boo!!! Just kidding 😉 I’m scared of horror films, but in a funny way. I find them rather comic, especially with all the make-up.. no matter what I do, once I begin watching a horror movie, I have to watch it till the end. I need closure! 🙂 Cheers!!

    • Tyra Skinner

Hahahahaha, trying to scare?! Yeah they are some scary movies that are funny, like the ring is funny to me for some odd reason because of her hair.

  • Neha T

Oh did you use the word lizard…… Me running!! I can relate to most of the things you shared. Taking the pill in one shot. Me too 😁 Horror movies…. I avoid too.

    • Tyra Skinner

Hahahahahaha my grandma is also afraid of lizards. She isn’t scared of anything except lizards.

  • Alexi R

Your list is so cute, I love lizards, geckos, beetles, even bees, ants, worms, and other insects, they are just so adorable to look at. I remember my friend shouted at me when I a catched a bug and show it to her. I love horror films all of them, I have to say I’m afraid of ghost hunting alone, I already did it with a bunch of friends but It was crazy I won’t dare to do it alone.

    • Tyra Skinner

You are braaaaave girl! Maybe if I read more cute bugs books, I wouldn’t be so scared!

  • I can hands down agree with you on crossing the road in China! Its taking your life in your own hands every time!! We have a great fruit and veg market opposite our apartments and I purposefully walk ten minutes down the road and go under a bridge in order to avoid crossing!!!!
